Clinical Nurse Leader Named to Healthcare Circle of Champions

Harnish, MaryCongratulations to Mary Harnish, MSN, RN, CNL, BC-ADM, CDE, for being listed as one of the American Diabetes Association’s Healthcare Circle of Champions awardees. Harnish will be recognized at the American Diabetes Association’s 2015 Father of the Year Awards dinner, Thursday, June 4, 2015, at the JW Marriott in Grand Rapids.

Harnish will be honored by the American Diabetes Association alongside Shawn Hillman, MSN, RN, CDE, and Cheryl Tenenbaum, RD, CDE, with the Healthcare Circle of Champions Award for exhibiting a commitment to help stop diabetes in West Michigan.

Currently serving as clinical nurse leader for diabetes at Mercy Health Saint Mary’s in Grand Rapids, Harnish has worked in diabetes care management for 18 years. It is her goal to promote quality diabetes care in the community in cooperation with multidisciplinary teams of healthcare professionals.

Harnish also seeks to improve processes and patient/clinical outcomes as a clinical nurse leader for diabetes. She is a frequent local and national speaker on diabetes care management topics, and Harnish is active in the city-wide West Michigan Glycemic Control Committee.
