Duane was nominated by the nurses in the critical care unit for his many assets such as his approachability, calmness and logical thinking.
“What impresses me the most is that before leaving the patient’s room, he will turn to the nurse and ask, ‘So what else do you need from me?’ He wants to do all he can to help us in our jobs caring for the patient,” said Steve Galli, RN.
Duane was also recognized for the time he spends with patient’s families. He always takes time to sit with them, answer questions and put their minds at ease. He consistently exhibits compassion in his interactions with patients and their families.
