As the weather turns colder, many homeless patients of our Heartside Health Center, a community benefit ministry of Mercy Health in Grand Rapids, are in need of basic items. To help meet this need, the HR team collected nearly 500 items for donation to Heartside Health Center to distribute to patients. HR collected winter apparel, toiletries and socks, which are much-needed items for the population that Heartside Health Center serves.

As HR representatives were dropping off the donations to the center on December 18, a patient asked, “Are those gloves?” The MA replied, “Yes, do you need some?” to which the woman answered, “Yes, I don’t have any!” The HR team gave her a pair of gloves right on the spot, making the patient’s day. It was rewarding for the team to see how their donations immediately helped patients.

“I am so impressed by our team’s generosity in donating items for the Heartside Clinic,” said Jenna Thayer, Physician Recruiter.
