Are You at Risk for Heart Failure?

Many adults are at risk for heart failure and don’t even know it. To find out your risk, join us for a free,  interactive, entertaining and engaging Heart 2 Heart seminar. Heart-healthy snacks and hands-on activities will be provided. This seminar will feature our very own Sous Chef Bryan Nader who will present heart-healthy recipes to the group.

Join us on Tuesday, February 25, 5:30-7:30 p.m., in the Lacks Grand Conference Room, 250 Cherry St., on the lower level of Mercy Health Lacks Cancer Center in Grand Rapids. The event is free and open to the community, but you must reserve your place.

Why attend?
Heart failure affects nearly six million Americans. Many people with heart failure lead a full, enjoyable life when the condition is managed with medication and lifestyle changes. Heart failure happens when the heart cannot pump enough blood and oxygen to support other organs in your body. Heart failure is a serious condition, but it does not mean that the heart has stopped pumping.

Common causes of heart failure:

  • Coronary heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Diabetes

If you have one of the following conditions, you may be at risk for heart failure:

  • High blood pressure
  • Heart attack
  • High cholesterol
  • Obesity
