Congratulations to Larry Wells, environmentalist, for receiving the first Friends of Nursing Award, created to recognize excellence in the workplace. The Work Environment Council of nurses chose Wells  for his continued help that goes above and beyond the requirements of his position.

Wells recently celebrated eight years of working at Mercy Health and is known for his continuous smile and the positive impact that he has on patients, nurses and colleagues. Upon receiving the award, Wells shared that his favorite part of the job is having the opportunity to interact with everyone in the hospital and witnessing the reactions of patients and nurses.

As you may recall, Wells is also an esteemed Colleagues Award Winner from several years ago.

I want to personally congratulate Larry. He is always a bright spot in my day. We usually count how many times we see each other and base how good our day is based on the amount of times we see each other. Larry's smile is infectious and you can't help but have a better day after you have seen him. Well deserved award. Not just by nurses, but, speaking for myself. The entire institution!
