John, Kelly and ShanaCongratulations to Mercy Health Human Resources representatives, who were invited to present at the White House on March 14, 2016 on competency-based hiring model, process and outcomes at Mercy Health. The Advisory Board was also present to hear this presentation, with national interest increasing regarding Mercy Health’s hiring model.

John Schwartz, JD, regional vice president, chief human resources officer, Kelly Wilczak, Talent Acquisition specialist, and Shana Welch, regional director of Talent Acquisition, all attended the sessions, with Schwartz presenting the information as the HR executive.

While there were 20 health care systems represented at the session, Mercy Health was one of only four organizations asked to present a Best Practice.

Welch was asked to present this same information on March 13 in Washington, DC, at the National Associations of Workforce Boards Forum 2016, with more than 1,100 people in attendance. Welch also hosted a breakout session on the model to more than 100 CEOs, directors and business managers.

Thanks to our Human Resources leaders for representing us on the national stage at the capitol.
